Compilation video of the boat racing on Wednesday and Friday Race days at the 2016 Super Boat International World Championships.
On Wednesday I was shooting video of the race from the Navy Mole Pier also known as the Outer Mole Pier. This race viewing location is a little crowded, but lots of vendors for food and drink. You access this location through the cold pits which is a must visit on at least one of the race days. If you want all the ambiance and excitement of a Super Boat race, this is the place to be. The downsides to this location is there is no shade on the pier and the parking is quite a distance from the parking.
On Friday I filmed from Fort Zachary Taylor Historic State Park. This is a prime viewing location and my favorite. Get there early as the park opens and you will have prime parking a few yards from the water and be able to set up your chairs under the shade of the trees. The snack and drink options are limited as there is only one vendor and although they serve a fantastic cheeseburger, your choices are limited.
Make sure you bring a pie carrier like this: http://amzn.to/2gTQsrv with you to Key West so you can bring home a Key Lime Pie!
